EQBOT – a Twitterbot that warns about earthquakes

EQBOT is a bot that uses data from USGS to tweet about earthquakes as they happen.

You can follow different feeds for different regions to get alerts about earthquakes:

• @earthquakeBot – Global earthquakes above 5.0 on the Richter scale
• @earthquakesLA – Los Angeles area earthquakes
• @bigQuakesLA – Los Angeles earthquakes above 3.5 on the Richter scale
• @earthquakesSF – San Francisco area earthquakes
• @bigQuakesSF – San Francisco area earthquakes above 3.5 on the Richter scale

I like this idea to turn data that’s already out there into something simple that could be really useful for people out there. Have you got similar ideas on how to mash-up data and services for the greater good?
