Automatic – Smart Driving Assistant

Automatic iPhone Car

Automatic is an assistant for your car. It consists of “Automatic Link” a device that the company claims is compatible with every car sold in the U.S. since 1996 and an App for your smart phone.

There are several ways Automatic assists you in your car. Once the app is connected to the Link device via low power Bluetooth it will permit you to do the following:

  • Fuel efficiency monitoring through: rough braking alerts, speeding warnings, rapid acceleration. It also tracks local gas prices and suggest where to refuel. After each trip a driving score is calculated so you can see how efficient you where.
  • Parking assistant: remembers where you parked your car, without the need for a manual check in. It even supports multiple drivers for the same vehicle.
  • Engine health monitoring: So you can decipher why the “check engine” light came on or what a specific error code means. It then suggests ways to fix the problem or suggests well reviewed mechanics in your vicinity.
  • Crash Alert: an integrated accelerometer detects if you crash your car and will call for help including your location, name and vehicle information. It will even send a text message to your friends/family to let them know what happened, where you are and that help is on their way.

Sadly the device is currently only available in the U.S. but the company is working hard to support more countries.
